Linyon Demokratik Seselwa (LDS) was founded in August 2016 as a coalition of Seychelles' main opposition parties, uniting to advance democratic reform and accountable governance.

Our Story (2016 to Today)
2016
Formation & Breakthrough
National Assembly majority — In September 2016, LDS won a National Assembly majority — the first time the opposition controlled the legislature in Seychelles.
2020
Peaceful Transfer of Power
Presidency won — In October 2020, Wavel Ramkalawan won the presidency (54.9%), the first peaceful transfer of power since independence; LDS secured 25 of 35 National Assembly seats.
2025
Governing & Progress
Recovery & delivery — LDS led Seychelles through the pandemic recovery, prioritized good governance, and launched major social and infrastructure projects.
